Gold and silver prices are down

I wonder what kind of market there is for a place that buys/sells these coins. I also wonder what, if any, kind of regulations surround a business like that. Anyone?

Aren’t you from Auburn? There’s a coin shop on rt 20 by sheldons I think? At least there used to be?

Same regulations as any other business I would think.

The big online seller I just used last week (JMBullion) had shipping and insurance included in the purchase price.

I wasn’t going to buy any more, but I just keep getting a gut feeling things are going to go tits up REALLY soon and in which case I’ll be glad to have what I do so I can feed my dog and not have to eat him.
Same +1 for JM bullion.

Going tits up is how I ended up with 3 kids.

I don’t know any numismatic dealers or bullion dealers that don’t have insurance that includes the packages they send to customers so you're good if you're buying through a reputable online dealer. Ebay, craigslist, whatever you should have questions.

Why/how could they own zero gold? What’s THIER currency supposed to be based on?

Maple syrup and yaks?

Unicorns. And also the hopes and dreams of socialism that morphs into a utopian communist monarchy.
I would say per land mass Canada sits on more gold than most of the world. They just have to pull it out of the ground like all the indigenous bodies around parochial schools.

Perhaps they can nationalize the mines or just buy their output like China does. If they’ll freeze accounts of peaceful protestors then anything is on the table.

Their website says "FREE SHIPPING ON $199+ ORDERS". No mention of insurance.

It’s mentioned elsewhere.

To ensure complete customer confidence, every single package we ship is sent with full shipping insurance. This means that in the extremely unlikely case your package is lost or damaged in transit, you will receive a full refund or exchange. Please note that our insurance policies only extend to packages in transit – once the carrier obtains a signature or completes the delivery confirmation, our coverage ceases.

A few buck below spot after 5% Bucks. Restrike with no numismatic value but rare to find any gold at spot.

Sale is over now. :(

So when are all my paper metals going to recover? I'm bag holding hard!
Good question but I’ve buying the mutual fund equivalence of GDX at rock bottom levels since last year. Senior producers will move first and its begun.

Do you mean mining stocks? We need gold to break out above $1900 without geopolitical effects, since those are temporary. Hopefully when the Russia thing blows over gold will retreat to $1850 or at worst $1800 and hold there. I think the trends have changed and gold is now in an uptrend again.

This situation always makes me wonder how well the masses will embrace silver and gold as cash (especially something as discernable as a Maple Leaf) in a Fiat-is-worthless scenario... 🤪
