Good Book

What's a good book for someone who hasn't done a lot of shooting and does know much about guns? I'm looking to have my son read this so he has a better overall understand of guns and ammunition. Since it's for a kid (teen) it can't be a 1,000 page book.

This is the handbook for the basic pistol class.
It is very much to the point. It covers types of pistols, nomenclature, types of ammo, cleaning, sight alignment, ...all the basics.
It is also fairly short.
