Learned a lesson. Always do a thorough check when buying/trading for a used firearm. Guess I got a bit trusting, since the countless private sales/trades I have done have gone flawlessly. Anyways, I have a few questions about this gun.

1. There is a noticeable gap between the top of the barrel and the slide (about the thickness of a quarter). Is this normal? I've seen gaps before, but this one seems rather large.
2. The night sights looked fine when I did a hasty check, but turns out the back left dot is completely dead and the front dot is at about 10%. I guess I only really saw the back right one and figured all was good. Are these covered under the Sig warranty?
3. How can I tell what generation P250 I have?

Thanks in advance.

You have a point. Here's some pics. Couldn't get a pic of the sights though.

Well remember, even though this gun is made by Sig it is still a LEGO type gun. I still wouldn't mind having one even though I see the price has gone up at four-seasons.

Charles.

The gap is normal, as for warranty on your sights I would call SIG and ask them.

The gap is normal, all Sig P series have that to some degree or another.

It appears to be normal. And I do not think that the price went up at FS. You get a good product with the Sig and the price on the 250 has been under $500. The SP2022 is only $399 in 9mm or .40.

I figured the gap was alright, but I just wanted to be sure. Thanks guys.

I traded my Ruger SR40c for the Sig. The Ruger cost me $423, and it looks like on Cheaper Than Dirt the Sig goes for $488 + $11 S&H +$20 transfer fee so it looks like I got a good deal assuming I can get the sights replaced (I should, as the gun was manufactured in '09).

The barrel does have some legendary wear on it, but nothing a barrel polish can't fix.

1) The Gap is fine.

2) Sig lists the night sight job at $119.95 + $14.95 for return shipping or $55 for round-trip. You might want to call to confirm that this price is good for the 250 as the 250 rear sight is a bit more complicated than most pistols. https://www.sigsauer.com/upFiles/CmsContent/documents/CUSTOMSHOP_pricelist_03-12.pdf.

Warranty is only good for original owner.

3) Call Customer service for the gen.

The 250 is a good little gun if you like the trigger. If you're close to Epping, it might be worthwhile to take the Armorer/Operator class http://www.sigsaueracademy.com/Courses/ShowCourseDetails.aspx?CourseID=36

Called Sig and they said they would repair the sights free of charge (don't even have to pay for shipping). Never even asked if I was the original owner.

Definitely earned some serious brownie points with that customer service.

The frame (plastic) is the later gen. You can tell by the way the mag looks. It has plastic in front and behind the floorplate. The first gen, the floorplate takes up the whole bottom
