STOUGHTON – The reinforced steel door has bars across it and security cameras are pointing toward it.

It’s the entrance to a new downtown gun shop — Steve’s Tactical on Freeman Street.

The inside, while still highly secured, has a more welcoming environment, with hardwood floors and neatly organized display cases. In the corner of the room is an intimidating gun safe that weights about 2,000 pounds.


Steve Levitt, the owner of Steve’s Firearm Instruction, a resident of the town and a firearms instructor, will open to the public to sell guns at the 11 Freeman St. shop at the start of October.
