As promised, here is the first lot of stuff I'm giving away due to downsizing my life. I'll post more stuff when I find it. I'm not asking for payment, nor am I shipping anything. If you want something, I ask that you take a trip to New Bedford, pick it up, and maybe visit with the rabbits.

I'm trying to pay it forward here. I ask that on your honor, you make a contribution to the charity of your choice in an amount consistent with your item. In some cases I will put what I paid for the item to help you judge. I won't mention anyone by name, nor will I ask how much you donated, but I just ask that you tell me who you donated to so I can present a list to the membership of who ultimately benefited from this.

Please post "I'll take..." and then PM me for my address.

Went to the range for only the second time since we moved on 6/6. Brought my January 1944 Walther P38 and a 100 round box of Winchester white. Never shot that many rounds out of a pistol at one time before. Distance as paced 48.6 feet, light breeze, sunny, 80F.

Wasn't trying that hard, just enjoying myself. Seemed to be low left; hit better compensating a ltttle high. Last time I used the pistol I thought I might need new springs, but there wasn't a single problem with any of the three magazines over 100 rounds.

3. 1943 M1 Carbine ammo pouch #2 with 1 Underwood and 1 Inland magazine ($60)
5. M1 Carbine bandolier Korean
18. Enfield sling

Not exactly charity but propose comm2A and Goal for these. Or a real republican Scott Lively for govanator.

I knew the carbine pouches and mags would go first. Sad thing was I used to have 4 tricked out carbines at one point. I did save one pouch as I would still like a second one. I'm marking the takers in bold after the item.

Comm2A and GOAL are OK. Wounded Veterans, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, etc.

I'll take:
11. Danish M1 Garand sling ($25)
16. Russian ammo pouch
26. "EU" (for Underwood) M1 carbine handguard ($30)

27. Nice reproduction trapdoor sling
28. .50cal lead round balls
29. .71cal lead round balls.
30. Large musket flints; I bought a pound and I'll never use them all. Original French and English from the Napoleonic Wars. Light is English, French is dark.
31. Original 1907 Dreyse grip
32. Reproduction brass tipped Enfield .577 tompion; somehow wound up with 2

Beautiful day to be out. Took the old Pontiac out for errands and the range. Getting into pistols again. Took my M14 Mauser out a second time as I'm carrying it more. Conflicting data on dates. I recently read that the first 60,000 were made between 1911 and 1914. No matter; it's over 100 years old and it works very well for me.

70's, breezy, clear sky. 15 rounds self defense ammo PPU and Hornady mix, then 35 rounds of Remington ball. Same weight round, 71gr., but the Remington had more snap. About 35 feet distance.

Looks like interest is waning. I'll ship in padded envelopes if that helps.

Think I'll trot out my carry pieces and have a run through. Shot the 1915 M08 Colt in .380. Not as accurate as the Mauser; sights are poor. About 38 feet, 85F, breeze didn't blow until AFTER I was done. Very humid and I sweated through my t-shirt. Mix of fair and foul clouds- may rain or not. But since I washed my car, blame me when it does rain.

Ammo was Magtech 95gr FMJRN, 50 rounds, 2 stovepipes.

52. 1/2 box .38 short

Might be more, boy I'm certain about the half box.

Surprised no one wants the Swede Mauser ammo.

I will ship the little things if they fit in a small padded envelope.

Next up is my 1937 Colt Detective in.38 special. Finally got to try it with the T-Grips that came the week after we moved. Really helped stabilize the small gun. 42.5 feet, HHH, 84 degrees faint breeze. Mix of leftover Federal LRN (880fps/208ftlbs), PPU LRN (902/243), Perfecta FMJRN (960/320), Hornady SD (1010/249), and Winchester FMJSWC (755/200); but mostly the first and third. The Perfecta has an awesome recoil next to the others, more than the Hornady due to the bigger bullet - 158gr vs. 110gr. Distance made me shoot low until I covered the black. I'll get one of these for my M66 S/W.

This is what confuses me about .38 special; the PPU and Perfecta (made by PPU) is equal to .38 special +P ammo - not recommended for special only guns. The Remington +P 125gr SJHP I use in my S/W .357 runs 975 and 264.

I'd absolutely take # 38 Mosin ammo and/or #53 7.7 Jap but it would have to be shipped and they may not fit in a small padded envelope.
