Great stalk, wild finish!!

Now THAT's hunting. Awesome to be able to get that close to your deer instead of waiting for one to walk by. Hard to believe how much he was talking, though.

He had the right camo on for sure. The snow really dampens a lot of sound.

All I can add is, I'm not dragging any deer a couple of miles in the snow these days. Twenty years ago, maybe.

I had something similar happen with a big 9pt I shot in the Adirondack's a few years back. Not as dramatic but I had crept into some thick stuff and as soon as I got into small opening on top of this little plateau I see a doe and this buck she saw me and jumped down over the banking but he was so fixated on her it gave me the second I need to shoot him. Mind you this is inside of 20 yards first shot hit him and he just starts walking toward me horns down I start back peddling and put 3 more rounds into him he takes a hard right turn away from me runs 20 yards up a hill and drops. Crazy tough animals 4 shots from a 308 at close range and he was still moving. I had to sit and and catch my breath after that talk about adrenaline dump. IMG_3355.jpg
