PS: There is NO need for a "pistol/revolver license" in Vermont.

Hey, just being fair.... there was one for MA and NH... I don't know enough about ME, RI, or CT to create one there.

That's not rubbing it in. My complaining that i live in such a gun control-loving, fascist hellhole as New Hampshire, relatively speaking, is.

I mean, REALLY! TEN BUCKS for a pistol license. Who do they think I am? Donald Trump?

Someone gave me a - rep point and called me an 'a$$h013'. I don't think that is fair for posting the truth.

+1 There is no reason for a permit system here. I'm betting they spend more than $10 worth of time/effort to do the permits. At least open carry doesn't need a permit.

The license comes in handy for reciprocity purposes. Some states will recognize a letter from the CoP/Sheriff of a VT resident, stating the person's OK to carry.

I'd like to see it be voluntary. VT-style carry laws, but if you want the paper license, it's 10 bucks.

We don't have any local reciprocity, so I really don't need one, at least right now.

I feel like it would be a good idea for VT to have some sort of official license. Not required for in-state carry, but just so you can use it to get non-resident permits in those states that won't accept the CLEO letter that you're OK to CCW.

That's how I understand Alaska works, you don't need a permit but they do issue one if you want it for use in other states that recognize them. I think short of getting rid of permit requirements in all states, that's the best system.
