Triple threat of lockdown-riots-election causes guns and ammo to be in short supply with prices, especially ammo prices, through the roof. Reloading components followed suit. However, magazines seem to be in good supply with relatively normal prices. In my limited experience, mags (especially AR, AK and Glock) tend to be bought up along with everything else but that doesnt seem to be the case this time around. Anyone have an explanation? Ive read there were something like 5M new guns owners this year. Are they content with what the factory shipped with the gun? Are existing gun owners content with their stash?

If Pedo Joe gets in, mags are going to be in short supply. How long will it take before the whiners start soiling their Depends and shrieking GOUGERS when a PMag is $50? You can get them all day long at 10 for $100 right now!

With the possibility of this becoming the next president due to the marxists, their useful idiots and those who larp as patriots but support marxist causes and organizations:

Knowing FBI agent Joshua Wilson based in New Jersey who has spent nearly five years working full time on child pornography has been reviewing the H. Biden laptop....

Wondering why crack-pipe photos are on the laptop and not relegated to some phone - whose phone and in what country. Pondering if these were blackmail-related so H. Biden could see what others had on him....

Consider temporarily fooled patriots are now beginning to realize most things which have been strange this year are 100% all bout the 03Nov elections.
One can only wonder why there are a record number of new firearm owners, a resulting ammo and reloading component shortage.....

Interesting observation OP. I’m not sure what the answer is, but if we think a large percentage of the ammo shortage is driven by a relatively small percentage of gun owners, perhaps it makes sense. Looking at myself, I’m pretty happy with the number of mags I have, but I don’t there is any amount of ammo that would make me feel the same way.

with just about every shop rationing ammo to gun sales only, there might not be a need to buy spare mags.

Personally I think most new gun owners are all about buying a gun and as much ammo as possible and stashing it to feel comfortable and safe. Most are not shooters and are happy with their Del Ton AR with a factory mag and a few boxes of raped priced 5.56
Yup. They think it’s like something u get at Home Depot and it’s in your garage when u need it.😂

I just bought 20 steel AR mags for $155 shipped. I’m seriously thinking of getting another 20.

I have been to 8 or 9 USPSA matches in the past 2.5 months. All I hear is people talking about their ammo orders. No one talks about buying mags.

I am surprised at how many shoot in competition and buy factory. One dude was saying he is receiving 2K out of a 5K order he placed like 4 months ago.

Factories had to stop manufacturing ammo.
The supply chain for raw materials was broken.
Primers are most likely being diverted towards ammo production.

On top of all that you have:
1. Existing gun owners hoarding.
2. New gun owners hoarding.
3. 5M+ new gun owners that all bought at least 2 or 3 boxes. 9mm has 50 box (plinking ammo). That means that if 1/5 of the new gun owners bought just one box of 9mm, that is 50M rounds. Bought during a time when the supply chain was broken.

Thinking, most new covid gun owners get by with the 1-2 factory mags provided with their gun.

I think that most of us here have essentially a lifetime supply of mags. I know I do.

All the new gun owners haven't figured out yet that a firefight doen't stop just so they can reload their magazine. [laugh]

All the "salty" gun owners already had enough mags and just went after the ammo.

Mags are going to dry up. Just look at Glock mag prices they’ve gone up at most retailers.

Everything has gone up not just mag prices. Every online vendor I deal with or browse has plenty of mags of all kinds, especially Glock.

I just did a quick search for Glock mags. 10 rpunds. Just because most of us are in MA.

Most places are out of stock. The very few places that habe something, either I never heard of them or they are between 20-50% more expensive than a few mknths back. The Glock store is full retard at double the price.

So, at least Glock doesn't seem to be in stock. At least the 10 round mags for those that live in the socialist Republic of MA.

You got me on the 10 rounders......I never look for those because the restrictions don't apply here. I've found every other count no problem.

Maybe it is just 10 rounders due to millions of people live in sh*t states.

A few panics ago, maybe Sandy Hook, can't really remember there where so many panics.

Pmags and G mags were going for +/- $50 each. The people that got left out ( needed mags) vowed to stock up once the panic ended. Those people bought metric shit tons of Glock, AR mags etc when we were in 3 or so years of salad days thinking they could cash in on the next panic...

Mags you can use over and over, ammo.. Not so much.

Maybe its just the 10's. TBH I saw a thread on another site that brought up the fact that mags werent experiencing any supply issues and the first couple of sites I checked had a hundred different flavors of Glock and AR mags in stock and at normal prices.
