I just moved to Hudson a few months ago and am in the process of applying for my LTC for the first time. Im eager to find a club close to home that not only provides a gun range but a fishing pond would be a plus. I will be submitting my application for my LTC in the next few weeks and feel having a club listed that I belong to in my application would be important. Anyone have any recomendations for someone new to the sport?

Marlboro Fish & Game. Nothing fancy but when I go to shoot I usually have the place to myself. They've improved the range with overhead cover and benches. Its a low budget range but it works for me because it's about 7 minutes from my house.

I was a member at Riverside for years and have only good things to say about my experiences. It was "light" compared to Harvard, but family friendly, pretty sure a fishing pond, archery, etc.

Riverside has a trout pond that is stocked on a regular basis. Harvard, while (IMHO) a superior club with a much wider variety of ranges, doesn't stock their pond... although we're discussing doing a kids fishing derby and stocking it the day before. Check both out.

my club keeps a stocked trout pond. when we stock it for a fishing derby we stock it 3 or 4 days ahead of time so that the fish have time to get settle down and get acclimated to the pond. i would suggest the same for your club if you decide to have a derby.
