Why are there so few, if any, gun shows on Long Island? There are so many people going into gun shops purchasing guns and accessories that I think gun shows would do rather well here. We do have the population density (over 2 million in Nassau and Suffolk counties) to make it worthwhile. Not only that but if you hold it near the NYC border, you have the very gun deprived populations of Queens and Brooklyn that would love to come a show (4 million people).

What he said. NY state, especially that region of the state, is one of the most anti gun locales in the entire country. The laws are not conducive to business.... and I wouldn't want to know about any local regulatory authority problems, as well.
