I'm being offered an H&K P30s in .40 as part of a trade package and I honestly know very little about the firearm (other than what I read on the net). I have never been much of a .40 guy, but I am not against it. Does anyone have one or at least have any experience with one? Thanks.

In my opinion. You have answered your question, your not much of a .40 guy?

1. If you do not have any guns in .40, do you want to add another caliber to have to buy and shoot?

2. Yes HK's recoil system soaks up the .40 better than the .40 glocks ive shot.

Me, since im not a .40 fan id pass , if it were a 9mm id buy it.

I've got one in 9. Recoil and muzzle flip are both low, ergos are sick. Double taps are quick and easy. Trigger pull is long with a ton of reset.

.40 S&W? Blech. Don't bother unless you already have handguns already chambered in .40.

I've always been drawn to the .40 S&W round, not sure why. I used to have an HK P2000, but I didn't see the sense in owning a handgun worth as much as a decent AR.

When it comes to price, I will pass on the HK every time. I can look at a $400 XD or a $500 Glock and know exactly what I paid for. I look at a $900 HK and can't help but wonder how it is $400-$500 better than the other guns.

In the end, I traded the HK P2000 for a Ruger GP100 and S&W 442.
