Just came back from down south to visit my Dad. A good time was had by all but the highlight was my Dad bestowed upon me the first gun he ever bought - a Springfield Trapdoor model 1884 he bought at age 14 in 1944.
This one's a keeper. He also gave me some "toned down" cartridges a friend made for him so it looks like a trip to the range is required.
The icing on the cake for this trip came as I drove through PA on the way back and stopped at a Gander Mountain. I asked if they had any .22? The reply - "all we have is those boxes down on the end there". The boxes? Stacked up like Emerald City... 1600 round ammo cans of CCI Mini-Mags. Sometimes life is good.
