I came across a vendor selling a Remington R1 Enhanced in 9mm for around $830. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with this model?

I'm looking around to get my first 9mm 1911, and that's about the top of my price range.

Remington's 1911's are now made by PARA USA with the consolidation of manufacturing....

You couldn't give me a PARA. Seriously, screw those incompetent morons

I find the freedom group incredibly depressing.

ive never owned a para but damn there are few mfrs with worse reputation.

as much as a 9mm 1911 would be convenient i have settled on the notion that the 1911 is just meant to be a .45acp.....just the way God (i mean JMB) intended it

Did my new rem 870 express come from Para as well? 2 barrels and it still fails to extract! Polished one up and called it a day.

I'm not shocked, freedom group is the most horrendous pile of trash excuses for a comapny. If they were the last gun company in earth, I would sharpen a stick

I just got the R1 Enhanced. No complaints so far. The slide operates really smooth, like butter. The fiber optic front sight I could do without, it's got sharp edges, and doesn't really help me get on target any better than normal front sight. It seems well made to me.

Ew R1s are now Freedom Group? Epic fail.
I'm pretty happy with mine, had both, a r1 and r1 enhanced, a couple years now, I'd bet my life on them. I make up my own mind about guns, don't pay much mind to what anyone says. For what I got into them can't beat it.

Yeah because you got one of the good ones. warwickben's has been pretty decent and I enjoy shooting it. With SR1911's front sight bullshit I'd probably get something else, although the SR and Enhanced look awesome. Will probably wait a few years, save, and get the Dan Wesson Valor.

I was just looking into 1911s at that price point and ended up with the Ruger SR1911, very happy so far (only been a few days, but it's been fun to shoot) and I got it for under $700.

I have had my R1E since May, and it runs fine. Very happy with it.

i have never owned a para but I trust all your experiences enough to believe them and thus avoid Para. my experiences w Freedom Group as a whole have sucked.
