I have a 308 model 10 savage on hold right now, but a 308 savage 99 just reared its pretty little head....

the advantage of the 10 is that I could switch he barrel and make it into a 260 down the road.

The savage 99 is just cool...

i know that they are pretty much equal for hunting in New England... I may go out west to hunt or up to Canada for caribou....

anyone have an opinion?
Thanks, ad

I have a family hand-down Savage 99. It's chambered in .308 and I think it's a 60's or early 70's "F" model. I haven't taken it out of the safe for years and I don't know anything about them. Are these desirable rifles?

I recently purchased the Savage Axis in 30-06, even though I still haven't been able to get the supplied scope zeroed in, it is still a pretty nice rifle. Best of all I only paid $315 for it at the Dicks in Nashua at the mall on the state line. Now I'm just stocking up on some surplus ammo and will finish trying to get it zeroed in soon.Oh the mags though hold only 4 rounds and they are expensive!

Charles.
