West Palm Beach police officials on Thursday honored Journee Nelson for her bravery in the Nov. 2 attack outside a local supermarket, giving the courageous child a medal.

The mother possessed a carry license. I’m not sure if she was carrying and it didn’t look like she even had a reasonable opportunity to effectively use it even if she was. It’s probably best for her and her daughters mental health that she didn’t shoot him dead, but part of me thinks that would have been the best outcome.
