High Sweep Beavertail Grip Safety install question

I'm considering a 1911 Colt style, series 70. I prefer a Hi-Sweep style Beavertail/Commander Hammer set up. I've been told the frame needs to be cut and blended. Is this the case w/all 1911's w/out the Hi-Sweep ? Does anybody make a true, "Drop in" Beavertail ?

Drop in beavertails are pretty ugly and not as functional as the fitted versions. I am not even sure if they are still on the market. The hand fitted types aren't all that easy to install but are well worth the effort. For most people this is a job for a gunsmith.
