Does anyone know whether HSA only has organized trap shooting during set hours or can you bring your own thrower and shoot with your own group when you want? I remember years ago at Woodville you could just show up with your own thrower and shoot trap with your own group during regular hours. Thanks.

You are welcome to bring your own thrower when the field is not in staffed use, but the trap/skeet houses and machines are not available for self-service.

Thanks Rob. I assume that means any time other than the scheduled hours for staffed use?

Daylight only - I don't think the lights are available self-service either. There are also the occasional work parties but don't worry - if you show up and there is a work party in progress, I expect they will let you help.

Not sure as to the details of HSA, but at Southborough, one of the benefits of becoming an Official Trapezoid (i.e. Trap Committee Member) is that you have a key to the house, and can fire up the machines.

So....join the Trap Committee, and you'll be good to go. [grin]

(BTW, I'm the Trap Chairman at SRGC, and we always need more members! [laugh]

I know some of the Trap/Skeet committee people have keys at HSA, but I don't know the policy on self-serve by those people outside of events.

I had the weekly after shoot dinner with the Hopkinton El-Prez tonite, and he asked me to mention he prefers that persons bringing their own thrower use the trap rather than the skeet ranges for this purpose so errant shots don't whack the high or low skeet houses.
