I was looking around last night. General consensus is not as good as the original guys, significantly better than the ones from a decade ago. Ugly, fit and finish isn't that great, but fairly solid.
Some people were reporting problems when the guns were shot a whole lot.
I may have to look into one. If only I could find .44spl in the area...
I was toying with the idea of picking one up sometime. I had heard the same thing about them being shot a lot and having issues... no idea if it's true as I have zero experience with the new Charter revolvers.
Last I remember Dennis at FDF had some 44 SPL in stock, not a whole lot, I think 5 boxes.
I saw a few in the case when I was at Collectors in Stoneham the other day. It doesn't really do it for me. I don't know if it's the reputation or just because it's so darn ugly like the Ruger LCR.
I've got one of the first generation ones. First generation were great guns. Any that were made by "Charco" stay away from. It's as easy to carry as a .38 with a better punch. Got to hunt for .44 Special but it's worth it. Handloading is also a good idea.
