How do you install a insert in a fiber optic sight.

I was at the range and the new green fiber optic flew out of the sights, leaving me looking down the sights at a hole were it use to be.

I picked it up but I know it won't stay in the body of the front sights if I fire the gun.

Some where I read you could melt the end of these with a match after you put them in is that the correct way?

Yes, or get a new rod (no offense) and start over again.

Thanks I hit with a lighter and it worked great.

The funny thing about it is after the green insert fell out I kept shooting and I shot better.
With the green rod out of the way, the black on the target was real clear threw that small hole.

You might want to have somemore fiber for the next failure, which will not be long.
