How many caliber uppers work on ar15 lower?

Just curious as to how many uppers would work on a single lower? Assume I would have to purchase a bcg for each caliber of upper. An ar10 wouldn't work because the magazine wouldn't fit the magwell correct? Thanks.

Your question is vague and any caliber could work depending on how much work/money you put in. You can get 50BMG and 308 uppers for a standard AR15 lower.

Pretty much any caliber that has a OAL less than or equal to 2.260". If it fits, it ships.

well...there's 300BLK...5.56...the new HushPuppy round from the shot show...those are all on the 5.56 platform.

300 Blk is one of the easier ones... The ONLY difference is the barrel and muzzle device on the end of the barrel. Exact same BCG, magazines, etc from a standard AR15 is used. Plus, you get the same round count in 5.56 magazines, with 300 Blk. So, your [standard capacity] 30 round magazines will hold 30 rounds of 300 Blk...

As long as the cartridge length will fit in an AR sized mag, thats pretty much true. Which is why a .308 or .260 Rem won't fit in an ar 15.

It's just a slightly different length 45acp.

They can fire both rounds . Same for the pistols.
