At about 5:31 AM, on Saturday, May 24, 2025, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) were advised by Boston Police Operations to be on the lookout for a stolen motor vehicle.
The vehicle was originally reported stolen from 398 Cambridge Street, Brighton, around 7:12 PM, on Friday, May 23, 2025. Early the next day, the vehicle was seen by Newton Police fleeing the scene of a commercial breaking and entering at 376 Watertown Street, in Newton.
Wentworth Institute of Technology Police Department advised officers that the vehicle was seen on camera driving on Ruggles Street at approximately 5:00 AM.
Shortly thereafter, at about 5:24 AM, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to the area of 60 Southern Avenue for a report of a person with a gun. Officers advised that four individuals attempted to rob a victim and displayed a firearm. The suspects fled the scene, and officers were able to broadcast a description of the fleeing vehicle.
An officer from District B-2 observed the stolen vehicle traveling on Warren Street towards Dudley Street. The officer requested assistance from other police units to stop the vehicle. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle in the area of Dudley Street and Dearborn Street, but the vehicle refused to stop, and drove around multiple marked police cruisers.
The vehicle fled the area at a high rate of speed, and failed to stop for the red light at the intersection of Malcolm X Boulevard and Columbus Avenue. Officers lost sight of the vehicle, and began to search the area of Tremont Street and Saint Alphonsus Street. A supervisor was able to review cameras and could see that the vehicle never left the area.
A search for the vehicle began, and it was located just before 6:00 AM, in a public open garage underneath 75 Saint Alphonsus Street. The vehicle was left parked crooked and partially protruding out of the marked lanes. Multiple vape products were found inside the vehicle, which was secured. The Newton Police Department took custody of the vehicle, and it was towed to their Police Station.
The four suspects were then seen walking in the area of 1600 Tremont Street. A foot pursuit ensued, and the suspects were apprehended at the intersection of Huntington Avenue and Tremont Street. Officers conducted a search of the suspects and recovered multiple stolen vape products. A spent shell casing was recovered from one of the 15-year-old juvenile males, and the stolen car keys were found in possession of the 16-year-old juvenile male.
A firearm was recovered from the 14-year-old juvenile male, which was determined to be a Palmetto Armory with one round in the chamber and eight rounds in a large capacity magazine. The firearm also had a laser sight affixed to it.
During the booking process, the 14-year-old juvenile male provided officers with a false name. Officers were able to determine the true name of the suspect which revealed he had an active warrant out of Juvenile Court for Firearm related Offenses.
