I just finished getting back from the range with my Dad for fathers day, we had a great time! We decided we would make it a .22 LR day so we could just hang out and shoot lots and lots of fun down range. The guns we were using were as follows: a Marlin Glenfield Model 25 bolt action rifle, my custom Ruger 10/22 (from the build it yourself thread), and a Smith & Wesson 22a target pistol. As we keep shooting (in the rain) I get the idea! The 10/22 is so accurate that I decided to try my hand at making some modern art.

Now just like any good artist, I had to make sure that my "Brush" was fully zeroed. Ask any artist, try making a painting with your "Brush" shooting a few inches off center and it will be one butt ugly picture!

10 shots with the Ruger 10/22

Ok! So now that I am sure that my paint brush is sighted in its time to paint a pretty picture!

Turn that frown upside down!

That was easy so it was time to step it up and paint my masterpiece!

Stick figure! Oh yeah I'm not as artistically challenged as I thought.

I had a great time with this. Next time you guys get to the range see what you can draw and post it up!

Your "guy" has only one ball, sorry I missed your from Mass. ;)

Haha well maybe if I hadn't run out of ammo I would have drawn the other ball. It is also why his head isn't as round as i wanted lol. As I was starting to make the head bigger I was running low on ammo.

Come on guys I want to see your pretty pictures! Maybe someone can improve on my stick figure and make it complete with 2 balls [rofl].

I have already been thinking of new ideas for my next trip to the range. I was thinking a good one to do would be a sailboat! As a challenge if anyone is able to get to the range try drawing a sailboat and we will see who is able to pull it off the best! Rep points to the winner! [smile]

10 yards? or 100? [rofl]

classic though

Nah, this was actually shot at 25 yards cause it was raining on fathers day and I didn't really feel like walking all that much in the rain. Also my optics at 25 yards allowed me to see exactly where each shot was hitting so I could draw any shape I wanted. At 50 + yards in the rain it made it a little more difficult for my scope to see where exactly each shot was hitting making it more difficult to draw lines. But feel free to shoot at whatever range you want [grin]

Went to the range today to play around with my M&P 9mm, but I never make a trip to the range without the 10/22! So I tried my hand at making my sailboat! Unfortunately When I started drawing it I wanted to avoid the black area of the target so I ended up drawing it a bit too low. Again this was done at 25 yards using Federal Gold Medal ammunition (by far my hands down favorite 22 LR ammunition) because it has absolutely outstanding consistency second to none.

Had I been smart about this I would have just turned the target around and shot at the white paper, but I must have been suffering from a brain fart...

Still waiting on some people to show me what they got! Have some fun and post it up.

Ah hah! Finally... Without the distractions (aka daughters), I could let my inspiration take over...

Then at first I could not remember what I was going to do:

Then I remembered and it made me smile:

But that had already been done, so I tried my hand at a pinwheel:

Then I thought, "Peace through marksmanship!" (this one could use a little practice, I flubbed some of the ones at the top):

BTW - this is really good practice (and fun)... I highly recommend trying it... [smile]

Oh and that's 25Y with a mix of CCI mini-mag and Winchester super X - hmm, maybe that's why I flubbed the peace sign, I changed mags?...

Now you see how it can be so much fun! It is far more challenging than simply going for the 10 ring, ammunition consistency plays a major role in your ability to draw straight lines.

I think it took me 3 hours
[laugh]

Now that's dedication...

Mine came out better doing a steady rhythm... True for most of my shooting actually, the more I think, the worse I do... Just am and take the !@#$ing shot and it will go where its aimed [rofl2]

I had a few scratches, but all told what I posted was about 20 minutes of shooting with reloading tops...

Went to the range today and it made me happy to get out there on a nice day like today. The whole of last week it felt like I needed a boat instead of a car so it was a nice change.

Had to make sure my paintbrush was still good to go [grin]

This was shot at 50 yards speed shooting, counting 1..2..Bang..1..2..Bang, after the tenth shot had to drop and change the mag for the last 2.

My attempt at a car [laugh]

I submit this excellent bullet hole Art BE Framed, and some
Newbury Street Art Gallery in Boston hold a showing, and invite
the champagne socialists, Deval and the Mass AG and her staff to
an Art Show of Bullet Artists!

Excellent figure shooting no matter how many testicles were drilled onto paper!
