Looks cool, but I dunno why you'd want so many of one gun. I can understand collecting a milsurp from all of the countries/factories that made them, but that many guns from a single commercial manufacturer just seems silly.

I have three, but one's scoped, one's a stainless version, and one's got a shortened stock on it. All three are LTRs and I have three so I can loan out a rifle at Appleseeds. Having forty 10/22s seems a touch excessive.

What the hey, that's the beauty of a free country and the free market. If he can afford them, why not?

Beats sitting on a barstool every night, IMO.

Maybe he has lots of kids/family and he bought enough guns so they can all fire them at once. [laugh]

Wow why so many of one gun, he must really like rugars.

Why are none scoped, I mean if I had that many of the same gun I would scope at least one of them.

I suspect that some of them were - look at the top picture again. Heavy barreled 10/22s, all of them - and none of them have SIGHTS. Maybe he took the scopes off for the pictures? Boy, that'll be a lot of work sighting them all back in again.

I think he must get off on the basic, sleek design of the unsighted, unscoped 10/22 rifle.

Not my cup of tea, but if he really likes the look, more power to him.

I just joined Rugerforum.com so I could ask him. I'm really curious. From what he says, he's only got about 6 that he shoots, so I suspect that most of those are safe queens - just collector's items. He says that some of those are rare variants.

Whats the stock on the two far right rifles in the first picture? Very nice grain!

Tom, thats the factory stock for the bull barrel rifle. I have the same stainless model (second one in from the right). The stock and the barrel were the final selling points for me when I saw it at the shop.

To each thier own. I for one love the collection! What's different from this collection than collecting Ruger 3-screws? All the same manufacturer and model? How about those that collect the Lugers and Colt SAA's, 1911's...
Some of those pictutered are quite rare, the KTP edition for example. Unless one understands that, it's kinda unimpresive and misunderstood.
