ive tried to do a search, but when i try to search anything on this forum it comes back with "no matches found". heres the deal, i just got my Class A No Restrictions and im looking into getting a firearm. im going to check out the Sigs, but i also would like to check out the H&K USP. i know Sigs (some sigs that is) are mass compliant, but i havent been able to find any info on USP's. so is it possible to purchase a new USP in Mass?

the list of firearms show that USP's are on the approved list, but no such list shows the AG list, none that ive seen anyways. i would appreciate any help, and sorry if this question has already been asked.

There's no published "AG's List".

Congrats on the LTC NR! I believe you can't buy a new USP (or any HKs) in MA from a dealer. You might find a used one or like-new-in-box in the classifies, but like wolf said, you'll pay a premium. Depending on where you live, check out four seasons in woburn, they have a nice sig selection.

If you look around, you'll find an HK. I've seen them at Four Seasons and North Shore Firearms for decent prices. I bought mine at Hunter's Trading Post in Weymouth. Like wolf said, you might end up paying a premium price because it's a pre-ban pistol, and anything you find is most likely on consignment. I'm very happy with my USP, however.

thanks guys, i would like to buy new, from what i understand Pre-ban are firearms that cannot be sold at a shop, but its not illegal to own one (private sale, owned before moving to ma) thats my take, please tell me if i'm wrong. if i'm going to buy new then i guess that i will be getting a Sig. im not a big fan of the way the Walthers or S&W's look. thanks to everyone that responded, it confussing trying to figure out what is available to us here in massachusetts.

Pre-ban firearms can be sold at any shop, so no worries there. It's new handguns (not registered in the state before 1998) that are not on the EOPS roster that the shops can't sell you, but if someone else (private citizen) has one for some reason or another, they can sell it to you via FA-10 form. Weird, right?

You generally can't buy a new USP in MA, but they are available here regardless. The full size guns in 9mm and .40 don't get that much of a premium when you can find them.
