Hey guys, just thought I'd share a few pics of the Troy battlerail I installed on my Sig 556 today. I went with the dark earth, though I thought the color would have more tan and less green in it. I thought I'd like the contrast but I'm second guessing it now. Perhaps it just looks out of place because I need to swap out the stock and/or grip too? Let me know what you guys think :)

I'm guessing that thing is like a rock? (doesn't wobble.) One of the major faults with the factory rails on the Sig 556 SWAT is the one I handled was actually wobbly. [thinking]

drgrant...you're absolutely right. The primary reason I decided to add this rail was because the stock "fish gills" felt wobbly and cheap...certainly not up to par with the build quality of the rest of the weapon (I fortunately got one of the good ones before the QC went into the crapper). With the rail installed it weighs in at exactly 10.2 pounds, so a little extra weight but it's rock solid. You don't even need to fire a round to kill something with this [wink]

Installation was a breeze and it's awesome that the Troy warehouse is only 20 minutes down the road from me. They make great products and it's good to support a local company

Nice! Those Fish Gills suck, the first thing I got rid of.

Thanks Blitz! Glad to see another 556 owner. What else have you done to yours? Mine has a Millet DMS-1 1X4 scope on it with a Wilson Combat mount plus the Troy rail. No other changes yet but I intend to get a nice sling with Troy's new micro sights and definitely a new stock. I really like the Magpul UBR but it's big money and here in Mass I couldn't use the collapsible feature anyway, so I may just get a CTR and pin it unless you have a better suggestion

Thank you everybody else for the comments

Don't worry about color coordination. Form follows function. You've made a significant improvement. That's all that matters.
