Have the stock grips off. Tonight my kit arrives and I will put on the new E2 grips. For $45 we will see how the new ergonomics feel.

Should be a fairly easy install. New mainspring, mainspring seat, hammer strut and decocking lever. Will post pics of process tonight.

I hope you like them. They do give a different feel. Lou at Business End Customs let me try a Sig with those grips so I brought my Sig 229 along with the full sized grips and compared them. Even though I have smaller hands, the regular grips seemed to feel better to me. It is a personal thing. There are a lot of happy campers out there with the E2s.

Anyone ever do this install before? I have all the new parts in, but the decocker barely works and cocking the hammer feels iffy.

I installed the E2 grip by myself. Let me find the installation instruction once I get back my computer.

If you can search, there is an online instruction on sig forum. It's for P226, but similar to P229 too.

Didn't have the hammer strut installed correctly. After a little noodling around I finally got it.

Double thanks, I got the email they are back in stock and placed my order too! I love my Sig 226 but the grip is a little large for my hands. I have the short trigger but hopefully this will help.

I submitted my order for the E2 kit Thur morning just before my previous post and BAM! it hit my doorstep today. Topgun Supply, you rock! Much faster than those mag holders I ordered back in Oct and also arrived today [thinking]

I installed the grips and took my P226 to the range. First it was nice of Sig to include the install/removal tool, but some directions would have been nice. I googled it and found the instructions from sig but why they would include the tool without the instructions they wrote is just stupid.

Shooting it, I must say I have mixed reviews. I've had my 226 for a while so it's going to take some getting used to. I also have the short trigger (not the short reset trigger but the thinner trigger) installed and I think that's probably why the grip feels almost too small now. I'll probably go back to the original trigger and see how that works.
