Are there any issues with doing this? I'd like to install typical dovetail night sights in an HK and I'd rather not buy a sight pusher.

Obviously I'll have to put the slide in a vise.

I tried the punch once and it didn't work well. I have a sig pusher. If you think that'll work you can borrow it.

Dude, your avatar is still giving me a headache.

Heh, thanks and sorry about the avatar.

I'll try to hunt down something different.

If you do it yourself, try a hard delrin "plastic" punch then go with brass if it is too soft. The brass will leave a mark and the plastic/ nylon won't. Just be sure to get the slide nice and stablein a vise before you start.

I have done several 1911's this way.

A brass punch will work fine, though a really tight sight might result in some damage to your punch. You can use an eraser to remove the brass marks when you are done.

Hi Paul. Nice thing about having the sight pusher is that it's available for you to bring to the range. Then you can really zonk in those sights. Somebody on here probably has one to borrow. I've got the Sig pusher too but probably no help to you.

Remsport installes sights for $25.00 send us your slide and sights. Or stop by.
You have to be carefull with night sights if you hit them too hard or the wrong way the sight bulbes can brake and stop working.

I'd be happy to stop by, or go to someone like Greg Derr. The issue there is I'd rather not make a 3 hour round trip to make this happen.

Yanici has a good point also. Maybe I'll buy a universal pusher. Some of them are reputed to be decent.
