Interpretation of 11-47-8 and 10

I have an LTC A, No restrictions. Based on these RI laws I can go from my home in MA to a "bona fide target practice range" and then go home with my pistols and rifles.

My only question is if I want to go to Hooters for lunch after the range, can I have my unloaded guns locked up in my locked truck box while in RI? The rifle it may seem is ok, but the pistols seem to just be allowed to the range and back or just passing through.

My understanding is that you cannot make any stops - other than the range.

As far as I know, technically you're not even supposed stop to get gas. So leaving your car unattended is totally out of the question.
