Is this the scope I should get?

I have been using 8-32 zoom scopes for many years, but for my long range 6mm Norma BR. Tactical - hunting rifle I am looking at getting this Leupold and having the turrets changed to the M1 turrets. It has adjustments of 94 moa. Would a Mil-dot reticle be better?

Leupold VX-III Riflescopes - Leupold 6.5-20x50 Varmint Hunters Reticle - VX-III Riflescope - 63500

What do you think???

Looks like a very nice scope to me. Any chance you could dig a little deeper into your pocket and get the 56mm objective lens? I find the more light entering the scope the better. I'm old and slowly loosing my eye sight so it might be just me but when the sun goes behind the trees I find the bigger objective to be a big plus!

Why would you need the Mil-dot reticle, you gonna be milling somebody or something?

Can't go wrong with Leupolds.

I am going Prong hunting next fall and want to be able to reach out to 600 yards if I get the chance at that range. I do not want to miss because I got the wrong scope.

http://www.nightgalaxy.com/Leupold_6_5_20x50_LR_T_M1_LRT_Mark_4_Riflescope_p/leupold-54680.htm = $1249.99 and only has 70 moa and has Mil-dot.

If I get the VX-III and have the M1 Turrets put on it and have 94 moa I save some money, but can not get Mil-dot with it.

http://www.nightgalaxy.com/Leupold_6_5_20x50_VX_III_Riflescope_63500_p/leupold-63500.htm = $825.15 has 94 moa, but no Mil-dot.

Good to go, and good luck. Leupold's won't do you wrong. Knowing how to shoot with Mil-Dots is a godsend when you don't have time to adjust the turrets. And there are plenty of cheat sheets out there if you're not good with math on the fly.
