Deconstruction has begun. Life will be such fun. Rabbits have been removed to the guest room. 5 cats confined to our bedroom. Oh the humanity.

New kitchen and bath in the existing footprint, half bath added to the closet in my office.

Label on the ceiling wood of the kitchen wood is 1940; so that was the first/only remodel?

Came back to the scene of destruction after seeing my orthopedic surgeon. My right rotator cuff needs to be redone. Has to wait until I get cardio clearance after my heart attack. EKG/stress testing in early April....so I keep suffering.

Explains why I couldn't handle a musket or K98 well the last two years. Turning into a banner year for me.

Was inspecting the cut out for the original vanity in the bathroom and impaled my forehead on one of those nails. Lots of blood. I'm just having a great year.

Jeebus - I had a minor heart attack last year and couldn’t imagine going through a massive remodel shortly thereafter. Kudos to you.

Tub in. Plumbing inspection tomorrow. Electrical to start TH. On schedule....week 2 of 3.

I guess actual pipes are now pase`? Blue and red tubing?

I'm not the only one that has to wait for the bathroom.

Looks like it is moving along.

A lot of plumbers have switched over to PEX Red for hot and Blue for cold. It’s faster and cheaper to install.

A special crimper is required for the unions. You can also use “shark bite” connectors but it is more expensive i the long run. I just ordered a crimper this morning for some plumbing work I want to do on my travel trailer.

Passed electrical inspection yesterday. Waiting for construction inspection today or tomorrow; then they start building. Half bath sink and maybe tub hooked up today.

Morning toilet was sticking my head out the kitchen window and washing my hair with a bottle of water.

At the end of 2 weeks, we now have a fully functional, if incomplete half bath. Waiting on contractor inspection, then the walls can be buttoned up and reconstruction begun.

Plaster and lath demo. I've had my fair share.

Theres always another nail (or whats left of a nail) left in a stud somewhere. Just when you think youve pulled them all...

Same for the dust. No matter how many times you sweep and vacuum, theres always a fine layer all over everything waiting for you the next day.

Wish the title of this thread wasnt so cryptic. Ive come across it a couple of times and thought "Oh shit, now what?", only to say a moment later "Oh its the guy renovating". [laugh] Not suggesting a change though, Im just a gloom and doom type of guy I guess.

The antique cabinet will probably go over the toilet, and I'll start looking for a smallish antique mirror to go over the sink.

Screw it...I drove the '55 Pontiac 70 miles today as it was 61F. Washed it and tucked it back into bed.

My priorities are different now....

May tile the walls in the bathroom...
