Japanese Substitute 02/45 Question

Anyone knowledgeable about Japanese WWII rifles out there? If the Substitute 02/45 was made from scavanged parts including the Type 35 action, how does one know if a gun is a genuine Substitute Rifle? Meaning, how can you tell if someone else scavenged a type 35 action from a rifle, put it in a type 99 stock, and calls it a Substitute?

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Got my question answered for anyone interested. The Type 35 actions were left in an armory, unserialized because they weren't put into rifles. A serialized action would then be a fake.
