What do I have to do to get some info on these clubs. I have contacted several clubs by email and tried to get someone on the phone and no response to either. I just want to see if i can go check out their facilities and perhaps join the club. should i just attend a meeting?

Which clubs? Maybe one of their officers is a member here.
Many clubs require you to go to a meeting to join. What does their web site say about it?
depending on the club they may only have particular hours when they're around. I emailed the MRA before i joined and I don't remember getting a response but when I called later in the week during their office hours they answered and were really helpful. I think due to the increased interest in gun ownership many gun clubs may be stretched a bit thin lately which is why they're having trouble getting back to people.
Almost all clubs are run by unpaid volunteers, and have no paid employees. So, yes, be persistent.
Identify the club(s) you are interested in, you will likely receive an invitation for a tour from a member here.
