Hey Everyone,
I was in the Air Force (national guard) from 1999-2005 and had some limited exposure to the M16 and M9 (beretta) guns. But other than that, hadn't really shot besides some BB guns.
Anyway, this spring my wife and I both took firearms safety class at First Defense in Uxbridge (highly recommend, Dennis is awesome!) and got our Class A LTC.
Went back to First Defense and bought our first gun - a Sig P226 9mm in two tone. It's a beautiful thing. I've shot about 150 rounds through it so far and am having a blast. A neighbor of mine has a great target area on his property with metal targets that flip back when you hit them, very fun to shoot at.
Anyway, at the risk of being whiney with my brand new gun, I made a nice scratch down the top of the slide between the ejection port and the front sight with my wedding ring (I think?). Is there anything I can do try and "buff out" this scratch. I know... it's a gun and will get scratched up. But still.. the P226 is just so damn awesome looking I want to keep it in as great shape as I can. I've heard some stories about different materials to clean it but not sure what would be the best to try and "buff out" the scratch. Or, do I just need to learn to live with it
Thanks - look forward to becoming an active member of the community!
