After my second trip with my new P9 today, I have now put the requisite 200 rounds through her with not a single issue. Not one. This is the 11th gun I've owned (my first Kahr) and I have never had a gun right out of the box run so flawlessly.

I did have a magazine follower crack in half however. So much for being excited about having a 3rd mag come for free. I'll probably call Worcester and see if they can send me another.

Over all, I am really impressed with this gun. Just a gem!!!! Time to start carrying her. Way to go Kahr!

Question, has anyone else had follower problems with Kahr P9s? I know some of the .40s have had issues?

Here's the gun!

The mags in general in Kahrs aren't the best and if you google you will see that cracked followers are common. Kahr likely will send you another. Probably worth ordering some spares while you are at it.

Do you carry it with the safety on or off? It looks like it's pretty small and might be tricky to disengage in a panic.

Suggestion for the Kahr safety. The free state version does not have a safety but otherwise is the same gun with the same trigger pull and so on. It is a little tricky to cycle off and on being pretty small. So leave it off. Its not going to engage by accident. The gun has a nice long trigger pull. Carried in a holster (as it always should be) its a very safe pistol.

Not according to Kahr. I was confused about which models have the 'enhanced' trigger and the guy told me that ONLY the ma compliant versions have them. I made him explain it two different ways just to be sure. That being said I guess the difference is not very noticable

Enhanced Trigger
Kahr’s new enhanced trigger will be featured on Kahr models with external safeties and loaded chamber indicators. The enhanced trigger has a shorter length of pull compared to the Kahr standard trigger. The new enhanced trigger has a 1/4” length of pull with an approximate 7.5 lb. trigger pull weight compared to a 3/8” length of pull for the standard trigger. The trigger pull weight for the enhanced trigger is the same as the standard trigger, approximately 7.5 lb.

I actually really like the trigger on this. Very smooth and a crisp break with not a terribly long reset. Will I use the safety? Probably not. It's a very small lever and more importantly (and stupidly), it actuates the wrong way from every other safety. Push up to fire. That's just mental.

That being said, I am really enjoying this gun. MSRP on these is steep but got a great deal as Nicks in Palmer was going through the ownership change and had all their guns on sale. MSRP is $875.00 for the stock sights. I paid $685 for the tritium night sight version! Can't beat that with a sharp stick!

I carry the same gun... I agree with you on the safety. It's very hard to disengage and its backwards! The somewhat long pull negates the need for the safety in my opinion....

I've carried a P9 for years. Never a MA model.

Prior to that I had a PM9 - which I never pocket carried, so I sold it and got the P9.

I would not trust that safety. I'd find a way to prevent it from going on. Maybe some silicone caulk would keep it from moving but allow it to be removed for resale. ugly but effective.

I love my P9. Its the perfect size for me.
