keep getting a message too short error when when trying to quote text

I get this message when I try to Wrap

tags around selected text:

"The following errors occurred with your submission

The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 1 characters"

Something I'm doing wrong? I've used this feature many times with no problems.

Probably this. You have to type your message outside of the quote. If you just try to post a quote, the software will not let you do this.

This. Ended up getting the same error yesterday then realized what I did wrong.

The trick to doing this is if all you are posting is a quote from somewhere, just put a "." outside the quote and you are GTG.
