I just bought a Kel-Tec Sub2000 in .40 today. When I opened it up from the "compact" position (when its action is open and it is folded in half), it seems that a small black clip broke off. The clip is about 7/8 of an inch both width and length. It is about a quarter inch to a half inch in depth. My problem is that I cannot for the life of me figure out where this clip came from. If you have a Kel-Tec Sub2000, please take a look at it and tell me where the hell this broken clip came from. I need to make sure I am not just going insane here.

Thanks...

Well, the only clip that I see near the butt is the metal C clip that holds the buffer retaining pin in. If the retaining pin works out the buffer spring will pop out the back I would guess.

Did you force it open or use the trigger guard release? The formed polymer hook that locks the 2000 in the open position looks kind of like what you're describing. A pic would sure help. Take a pic of the mystery piece, and also closeups of the rifle internals revealed when it's opened.

If you mean a thin metal clip, there is one little one (a lot smaller than your description) that goes around the base of the front sight like hminsky mentions.

That clip is an extra guard that goes around the front sight blade, I believe.

It clips on the front of front sight, providing protection from stuff poking into the front blade slot.

That looks alot like it, but aint the one. Of course, now when I'm looking for the damn thing - I cant find it. As soon as I find the clip, I will send the pic.

Thx

Kel-Tec sub2000 clip issue

Guys - I cannot find the damn clip. Thanks for the help, but I will need to address this again when I can find it and take the pictures. I guess I might find out what that clip does after I fire my first shot!

I will update as soon as I find the damn thing. Thanks all...
