Just watching a Fox News peace and I see today is the last day you can buy an AR style rifle in California. They are no longer legal in their current configuration as of 11 days from now. Sound familiar?

no shit, right? Who in their right mind in California isn't buying stripped lowers by the dozen?

ARs were already pretty much illegal there, there were just a handful of loopholes apparently that just got closed...

It's definitely a sad state of affairs. You can't open carry and you CC isn't a guarantee in CA, then gunpocalypse happens. I hope they've got some heavy duty lawsuits ready to be filed in SCOTUS.

Trump's pick(s) are essential here.

Won't it be beautiful if we can get rid of some of the socialist slime that currently populates the SCOTUS and replace them with constitutionalists? That alone would make Trump's presidency a win in my book. Ginsberg is 83 and Breyer is 78. Statistically they are both likely to be replaced during the next four years. Anyhow, back to our regularly scheduled thread.........

The divide continues to get wider between free states and the commie states. Seems free states going more pro-gun, i.e., constitutional carry, etc. and the commie states just adding more and more laws. Only hope is a new and improved SCOTUS declaring these BS laws unconstitutional. Otherwise, given time CA, NJ, MA will be giant fudd gun only states in due time.

Most gun laws in California will be repealed in time. They are so far beyond infringement its laughable

I tried to read up on the CA gun laws and I'm not sure if it's better or worst than MA. Both are terrible overall. I wished I had a better understanding of the MA AWB before and brought way more stuff from Iowa instead of just a few old mags.

Never happen. Even if SCOTUS were to nullify a California gun restriction, the state would simply circumvent the ruling with another restriction or employ a de facto nullification of the federal ruling.

A worthwhile read:

But on March 9, 1976, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court handed down its unanimous decision in Commonwealth v. Davis: there was no individual right to arms in Massachusetts. Period. Whatever the right had meant in 1780, as of 1976 nobody in Massachusetts had any right to keep or bear a firearm. A complete ban on all guns would be constitutional. The implication for the pending vote on handgun confiscation was obvious.

For all the Californians scrambling to get their ARs, keep in mind that with registration comes confiscation. The state knows thousands of people aren't buying guns just so they can sell them at a loss out of state.

They already had shit gun laws for 15+ yrs so if they don't know this by now they're either dense or not paying attention.

There are less CCW permit holders in the entire state of CA than there is in MA and CA is like 10 times the size of mass in every aspect. Process that for a moment. That sucks pretty bad. Even CT and MA are better than that garbage... but these days that isn't really saying much.

In time MA was fudd when I was a kid!

Is commifornia still considered part of the continental USA? They aren't under water yet?? I'm buying soon-to-be waterfront property in AZ bay!!

Not sure if it ever hit the books or not but I read they put forward a proposed "law" where you would need to notify the state when you wished to purchase ammo, pay a processing fee and disclose the reason for your purchase via a form. This of course in California.

I do know that they passed a law that starting 2019 DOJ will maintain ammo purchase information of ammunition by LE for LE purposes. Proposition sixty three.

You think Healey is done here? I guarantee she has a plan to push exactly the same kind of Kalifornia bans here. She will not be upstaged. Hasn't her absolute arrogance for due process and contempt for the 2A proven to you by now that she will absolutely not stop... EVER, until your gun rights are dead! (Reference Terminator 1)

There's a big difference between Healy's crap and what is happening in CA. The stuff in CA actually has the force of law if it passes and isn't just political grandstanding that at least in one major aspect is mostly toothless. CA also spends real money on gun control. MA doesn't spend shit. Healy doesn't have the power to pass actual laws unless she can cajole the legislature and charlie faker into passing a new gun control bill.

But wait... why would anyone in Commifornia need a gun... Don't they all live in mansions and have their own security detail?

I need to go back and re-watch my 90210 and MP episodes to make sure.

And of course... I know so many are itching to re-hear that thematic gold...

Oppps... Was just remembering... kid playing with pistol "drops" it and shoots self...

Yeah... Guns are bad... we are just ignorant I guess

I never knew that. Scary, for sure.

Yeah. Far D Legislature. DEEP FAR D Guvahnah. No hope to reverse it except on a massive snap-back of that rubber-band of stupidity. (Corporations are leaving CA in droves. Solution is to raise taxes further. At some point, the populace will get a modicum of a clue. . . . or circle the drain.)

Hard for her to rewrite written law. Sure, she misinterpreted the current law - which will be overturned in court in 2018 or so. But to just make crap up without a statute to misinterpret? I'm not so sure. I think she'll be gone before it's an issue.

That is a very good point Mike. Yes that is a big difference, but for all intents and purposes if she is allowed by our spineless governor and corrupt legislature to ignore the laws on the books and make up here own... than it doesn't matter. Eighteen years of longstanding law out the window because.... her opinion says otherwise. I understand what you are saying, but she could say tomorrow no pre-ban mags, no semi-auto anything, and exactly who is going to tell her "no you can't"? So until it plays out in MA courts, likely loses, gets appealed, maybe again... it will be several years minimum of her defacto laws.

Love this from FOX new today.

The “evil features” include pistol grips, flash hiders and bullet-buttons that make it easier to remove and replace ammunition magazines. The Los Angeles Times reported an increase in gun purchases in the lead-up to the Jan. 1 implementation.

Thought the bullet buttons made it harder to swap out mags?[laugh][laugh]
