I think it's a Leupold CQ/T (or a clone of it, obvs.). Nice optic if the real deal.
Just looked at some more pics. Looks legit.

So he was carrying unloaded mags? Who does that?
I'm sure they unloaded the mags at the police station to make the bullets look more scary.
Guess it was his own personal "go time". Serious operator fail ditching the gear like that. Could he have picked a slower escape vehicle. I'm crying laughing picturing someone escaping in a row boat.
Diversionary BOB. I'm in!
This is the furthering of the conditioning to make those of us that are self sufficient to be strange and of evil intent.
Yes, in lieu of the "row boat attachable" Evinrude.
he had a warrant for a domestic. I believe he beat up his GF at a club in Worcester or something. That is why they were looking for him.http://boston.cbslocal.com/2015/11/28/leicester-assault-rifle-rowboat-escape/
I love how they're crowing like they nabbed bin Laden. Wonder what this dude did.

Charges were not immediately available. The woman who was involved in the initial domestic incident in Worcester did not report any injuries, police said.
Hmm.
How do you beat someone up without any injuries to them?
Kramer from Seinfeld would steal a train and make pickups.
I am not sure but the ar looks like an sbr, anybody, anybody?
Not sure, I didn't write the article, just reporting what I read and heard.Hmm.

I like that guy. . I'd ride his stolen train anyday before I rode on a non stolen one. He cares a lot more than the emploees do.
If I read his rap sheet properly, some TA employees actually had him standing their shifts while they took the day off.
The woman picking them up was not the woman involved in the domestic.There has got to be more to this. One PD calls a other to arrest a guy over a "domestic". They show up to the guys house and he had left just minutes before prepped and ready. He bails out in the woods used a stolen row boat and is picked up by a friend. They get more gear and bug out in a state forest. Then for some reason the woman involved in the "domestic" (who they make note is uninjured) is stopped by police when she was suppose to be picking them up and they are then arrested without incident? This reeks.
Suspect Arrested In Waite/Main Street Incident
On Saturday (11/28/15) morning at approximately 12:30 AM the Leicester Police Department received a request from the Worcester Police Department to effect the arrest of a local resident for a criminal act he had committed a short while earlier in the City of Worcester. This is a routine request that frequently takes place between law enforcement agencies. Officers from the Leicester Police Department went to 710 Main Street (2nd floor), Leicester, MA and attempted to locate and arrest Dean J. Largesse (age 32). Upon arrival the officer spoke with a roommate of Mr. Largesse who stated he had just left approximately 5 minutes prior to the police arriving. The officers also received information that a possible gunshot had just been fired at or near the address. The officer noted that the vehicles that Mr. Largesse had access to, including one that had allegedly been taken without authority during the Worcester incident, were still both present at the address. The LPD officers at 710 Main Street then checked the yard for Mr. Largesse and located a loaded AR-15 rifle with the safety off and a backpack. The AR-15 had what appeared to be blood on it. The officers could also hear a person fleeing through the woods.
-------------------
Information developed during the investigation led police to a potential location in northern Worcester County. At this point State Police assigned to the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Unit (VFAS) responded to a location in the Town of Royalston and the LPD continued to work on the case locally. At approximately 10 PM the MSP notified the LPD they had Mr. Largesse in custody. Two additional firearms were seized and he was wearing a bullet proof vest at the time of his arrest. He was taken into custody without incident. Sgt. Paul Doray and Detective Timothy Fontaine from the LPD responded to the Athol State Police Barracks and took custody of Mr. Largesse. He is currently being held at the Leicester Police Department. He faces the following charges in Leicester:
1. Carrying a firearm without a license;
2. Discharging a firearm within 500 feet of building;
3. Improperly storing a firearm;
4. Unlawful possession of ammunition;
It's been said before. It'll be said again. Do NOT read the comments.
I look forward to the day I move to a state where they are just sweet drum mags and not a felony.The one half way down on the LPD FB page" sweet drum mags".
