What is you attention span for "survival" videos?

I went to watch NUTNFANCY's FAK video. The larger kit not the individual one.
Now I know, I had to be prepared to invest at least 45-60 minutes right? I was ready for it.
So I watched the first part. 25-28 minutes I guess.
Then I cued up the 2nd part and realized it was a 5 PART SERIES!
This means I had to invest a total of about 130 minutes to see everything.

Seriously?!

Now he is not the only offender in my mind. I mean, I don't need to hear everyone's philosophy on how to clean a "boo boo" and apply a bandaid!

DO you guys find that most of these videos are too long?

There are some things where I just want to see the nuts and bolts. Especially if I want to take a look at several people's videos on the same subject.

Is it just me?

I enjoy some of his videos but they are usually way to long for a simple gear review. He is worth listening to though because he actually takes the stuff out into the woods an uses it.

I only listen to his videos at work as background noise while I'm doing skmething else

NutNFancy's are by far the worst.... 45 minutes of crap/noise/tactical acronyms/bloviation and 5 minutes of actual content. If you're not fast forwarding/seeking through his videos, my condolences.... [rofl]

I forget what video I watched of his. I think it was comparing 2-3 ar15's..... It was like he was reading every little tech spec possible . I shut it off before he got done saying what the first gun was.

He is obviously the worst like i stated but he is not the only one. I find the vast majority of youtube vids are WAAAAY TOOO LONG.

Is it just me? Short attention span?

Maine Prepper will sometimes have long videos, but I really enjoy them. I like to do what he says; grab a cup of coffee and settle in.

I guess it really depends on the subject matter.

Being precise in both script and in editing is a skill. Youtube content is mostly people with more hubris than skill.

Typical Youtube video shouldn't be longer than 10-15 minutes, yes some subjects and be longer but break them up in segments, it is tough to keep someones attention longer than 20 minutes on the low end and 40 minutes on the long end. I'll sit and watch a complete Magpul Dynamics video for hours but basic information should be broken down so that individual suptopics can be reviewed in another video

I play his videos and stream through bluetooth so I can listen on my commute.

I find the content more important than the length. It is hard for me to take a guy seriously when he is evaluating some piece of survival gear and he is in his Moms basement.

Best review I ever found was for an ESEE Junglas. 6 videos long of some guy snow camping in Sweden. It was also one of the coolest knife reviews because the dude was out using it building shelters and chopping wood. Those are the reviews I like.

I don't mind length as long as the content is good (that's what she said)

I typically only watch videos greater than 5 mins in length if they've made it to the top of some social media I trust, be that certain subreddits etc. I avoid Nutnfancy like the plague unless I'm a mouse-click away from a purchase and still skeptical.... like i'm punishing myself for being indecisive.
