My neighbor had a pile of junk on his basement floor and in this pile was a Japanese sword and a bayonet. The bayonet was for a type 99 Arisaka which I have. He sold it to me for 25 bucks and gave the sword to my son. It turns out the sword was made by a well known swordsmith who lived in Hiroshima. I have no idea what happened to him after the bomb was dropped.
