All:

I have been living under a rock lately and was unaware that the Wounded Warrior Project has fallen out of favor based on some, apparently legit, public evidence that some of the forum have been kind enough to supply me.

My goal was simply to do a good thing. But I picked a charity that.. has become questionable.

Neat thing is - that it's an easy fix.

Someone suggested the Fisher House. I happen to know we have a Fisher House here in Boston.. and guess what.. they do great things (DON'T THEY?? Or am I f*ing this one up too?! Serious question.). So instead the deal remains the same only we'll move the monies to The Fisher House.

Here is the proposal:

Memorial day is coming up. Next Monday in fact. At the Minuteman Armory we would like to make 2 important announcements.

  1) We will be CLOSED on Sunday the 24th and Memorial Day Monday. Hard  closed, no idiot  sitting behind the door letting people come in so he  doesn't have to do  his paperwork. No one will be there. Just the guard  dog and the alarm  systems.

We hope you can spend time with your friends and family as any Vet would want you to do.

2) We are also going to run a special this week and next. Come in, buy a   Ruger SR9c. We'll start by knocking $10 off the price. Then we'll take   $25 from your purchase and donate it to the the Fisher House Boston. http://fisherhouseboston.org/

The end result is that the gun will cost you $430 and you'll be helping those who served us.

Rest assured, there are several vets who come in to the store regularly   (yeah, we have been open a week and we have "regulars") and they will  make damn sure the donation gets made or I feel 100%  confident that  they'll leave me in a bloody lifeless heap.

If  you would also like to simply make a donation to the charity, please   stop in and we can arrange to forward whatever you can afford along  with  the store's donation. Make no mistake, every dollar helps.

 Thank you.
