This started as a 1960 vintage Colt Lightweight Commander in 9MM Luger. The slide received new Heinie sights and serrated flat top 30 lpi. The port was lowered. The barrel was refit and a new EGW "pencil" barrel bushing cut to fit. The frame was serrated and fit with a Derr Precision grip safety, The thumb safety and slide stop are Harrison Design. The hammer is customized from an E2 unit. The sear and disconnector are E2. The frame was Cerakoted Armorers Black and the slide polished and blued. The pins are polished blue also. Grips are Honduran rosewood.

I don't know if the guns are works of art or the pictures are? [wink]

It seems like every gun you do is special to you and it shows in your work.

Your photography is also top notch, I like the Jax.

Great looking pistol, why wouldn't you have bead blasted and blued the frame instead of Cerakote?

Chris

In a Colt Lightweight the frame is aluminum. Bluing is not an option. Cerakote offers a nice finish and color choices. Re-anodizing the frame could have been a disaster for the original alloy.
