I haven't been looking at what's new in the past few years but on my recent hunting excursion, I was able to borrow a Remington Spartan SP453? I believe these were made by Baikal and imported by Remington.
A few searches on the net indicated that this was a pretty good buy. My first hand experience with it was pretty good except that the gas system got junked up quick and I had a few fails going into battery after a shot. Cleaning it out fixed it for another 30 rds or so before needing another cleaning. Overall it was decent but I really had to check it each time to be sure. For the price I thought it was ok (~$450)
Can anyone recommend another affordable (<$700) semi-auto shotgun that takes 3.5 shells?
