I belong to a club and I am thinking about making a change at the end of my membership. These are the things I am looking for in a club:

Handgun range where I can shoot in any weather.
Rifle and black powder ranges that go out to 100 yards (min)
A club that allows crossbows on the archery range
Is kid friendly
And that allows an occasional guest on the range

What do you guys suggest?

Thanks,

Bob

Check out Springfield Sportsmans Club on Woodhill Road in Monson. The ranges are outdoors, but the firing lines are covered. As far as a crossbow on the archery range, you'll have to check with them. I'm pretty sure it would be ok though. Rifle ranges go from 25yds to 300yds. Kid friendly. Allows guests (some rules pertain to bringing guests, but thats covered in the rules on their website).

Holyoke Revolver Club has a modern clubhouse with heated 50-foot indoor range and 24/7 member access. Newly renovated 50-yard outdoor pistol range with covered line. 100-yard rifle range. Junior rifle program with NRA instructors. Small archery range, with no restrictions on crossbows. Lots of activities - bullseye, practical, .22 rifle and fun shoots. Guests are welcome for a tour, but no longer allowed to shoot or handle firearms (for good reasons). www.holyokerevolverclub.com

Pending on how far you want to drive Conway Sportsmans Club in Conway Ma fills your requirments.

Range is a dual use, rifle&pistol, you just need your own targets and stands.
The archery range is'nt the greatest, has some older 3D targets and four lifetime targets. Crossbows are allowed. During the winter months they shoot inside the pavallion which is enclosed and heated to take the edge off.

The club is huge on getting kids invloved in the sports and hunting. They have events every year for the kids only. Some of the events are a youth fishing tourment, youth phesant and turkey hunts and youth day at the club.
Also the club holds yearly game dinner. Yum

Like I said it's a haul from the Greater Springfield area, if your intrested in checking it out sometime or have questions pm or email me.

ETA: guests are allowed and there are no mandatory work bees or hours to meet. Dues are a huge $25 a year. Meetings are the first Thursday of the month at 7pm with dinner served at 6pm. Cost for dinner is $5.00

Does anyone have any information on Pioneer Valley Sportsman's Club in West Springfield???? I was just told about this club recently and plan on looking in to it

I am at Westfield right now but looking for a change (definitely not kid friendly)

Check out the Agawam Revolver Club is Southwick. Heated indoor pistol range open till 10 pm. They are expanding the outdoor range to 100 yd right now. Club is lax and guest friendly. I posted a bit about it not too long ago.
