My company needs to design an Impedance Matching network for a 13.56MHz RF Generator for Plasma Sputtering applications.

This is very similar to the average Antenna Tuner, i.e. we need to measure Forward and Reflected Power, and adjust Vacuum Capacitors in the Matching
Network.

The frequency is fixed, so Inductor does not need to change, just the Ct and Cl.

We also want to have it tune automatically, as the plasma impedance changes with gas flow.

I could actually use an Auto Tuner used for Ham Applications, but I can't find one that is rated to 5kW.

Anybody have any experience in this field......want to do some consulting for us?

I would suggest finding a manual for an ENI MW 5 OR similar tuner to get a full description and schematics to reference

Kim, I forwarded this along to a ham I know, he's a freakin' RF genius, always building and modifying stuff.
If he replies to me that he's interested, I'll have him contact you.

Kim, I received a reply, here's what he wrote:

I’m retired Scott and don’t plan on returning to work.

I do know what this is all about. I have actually seen these things. Parts of these often show up at flea markets. They look like a KW power amplifier on only one frequency.

I knew he would be the right guy to ask, but it appears that he's gone into retirement and isn't interested, sorry.

Let me know if you need information about Flux capacitors, but this one stumps me.
