Looking for a good tactical 12-gauge

Mossberg 930 spx. My newest and favorite toy. Under 600. Shoots slugs, 00 buck, magnum loads, light targets loads, everything. I love it
Nice. I think I want one. They seem to be awesome guns. Maybe the combo w/ the 18" and field barrels for me.
If you watch this video a few times, I think you will see your gun in it:

I've got the 930 SPX...great gun...but doesnt always cycle birdshot

Forget an autoloader...get a 590A1...itll eat everything, learn on a pump gun before you go to a gas gun

I agree, I've shot an autoloader when it was fairly cold out(20F), and it wouldn't cycle half of the time. I think the guy never really cleaned his shotgun though...
Never had any issues with a pump whatsoever

I purposely bought the lightest load of birdshot i could find to try and make it fail. it cycled it perfect everytime. I even staggered slugs, 00 buck and birdshot in the tube to see if that will make it fail. It still worked perfect

It will cycle everything until you short-shuck it under stress. If you get a round stuck under the feed gate you're done.

saiga 12 - rock solid weapon, built on what I think is the ultimate fighting action platform - the kalashnikov.

Im partial to the mossberg 500 - its a proven design that passed several military torture tests to be awarded the contract for the US armed forces. these are often pre-tactialized (yeah I made that up) and can be found at any gun shop or on the NES site for as low as 275. Lots of goodies like heat shields (which are actually functional), pic rails, folding stocks, shell holders, ghost sites etc.

Parts for the mossberg are very inexpensive and whether its home defense, range practice, SHTF, WROL etc - its a trusted and reliable weapon (said it again, sorry) that is used by military/cops/civilians the world over.

The folding stock is so so - it allows for a decent enough aim but they wobble sometimes. if youre going for tactical, get a shell mount for the side and for the stock - some stocks feature a speed feed, giving you a +4 shell availability.

I'd vote for a saiga 12(with slight modifications) or a Remington 870. I've been able to get my Saiga 12 to cycle just about everything including reduced recoil rounds. The Remington 870 is just rock solid reliable since you don't need to worry about the ammo so much as making sure you don't short stroke it.

Mossberg has some good shotguns, but they are kind of clanky. I can only describe them as clanky, I have the 500 and the pump is very noisy and has a flimsy feel to it. It hasn't had any problems so far though. I like the Remington 870's also. Go and take a look at a couple of shotguns and see what feels good in your hand. I've only heard good things about Saiga's also. Good luck.
