Looking to get a 20Ga Pump.
I currently have an 870 Express combo on hold -- I want a gun with interchangeable barrels. I can only slug deer hunt in town, and Id like to use it for turkey and other shot applications.
So that being said, Is the 870 express a good choice, I'd much rather buy a good gun once, than buy a cheap gun and then get a good gun later in the year...
Any experience or recommendations appreciated..

An 870 20 gauge in 3" magnum is a good choice for everything except maybe geese and high-flying ducks. The 12 gauge fans will probably disagree, but in practical applications, the 20 gauge doesn't give up that much. A deer hit in the right spot with a 20 will drop just as fast. I've got several 12 gauge guns, but due to a shoulder injury I carried a light 20 gauge pump during pheasant season this year. No problems.
That's good-looking pooch. Bernese?

I wouldn't rule out getting two NEF pardners, I have my 20ga with rifled barrel and it really is a tack driver with sabot slugs, dropped a 190lb buck on the spot, the 20 of today has comparable ballistics to 12ga of the 1980s

I've had a 20 ga express for about 15 years. I use it for a bad weather gun, and its been used hard.
I wore the finish completely off the wood, thats how much Ive used and shot it. I had to replace the magazine follower and carrier dog spring, thats it. I think they are a good value, and the combo version would be an excellent choice.

Or one with a second barrel.
