Any recommendations?

Should I just grab a couple from the registers rack at Lowe's?

Does Cabelas have any decent/reasonably priced ones, and by that I'd say around $30 - 40 each?

Also, I have a bunch of incandescent Maglites. They are offering a trade in toward newer LED maglites. I might take advantage of that unless you folks have better recommendations.

Thanks for any ideas!

Fenix, nightcore, 4-sevens are my favorites at the bottom end. I ha e some surefires too, but the sub $50 lights these guys make are solid.

I own a handful of these. None has failed yet and the batteries last a few months without charging. Have one in my car right now. $13 Prime.

If you want a headlamp, this one is fantastic at $20 Prime.

If you're not using it for work literally everyday, there is no reason to spend $50 or more on a flashlight with the quality of LED torches out there today. I have some nice lights and headlamps for work and honestly there's no difference for normal use.

I have several of these too and they have never really let me down. I even used one for a low light IDPA stage a couple weeks ago and it worked fine. I think they are a great value for the price. What I like most about the Fenix FD41 I bought is that it has a separate button for the mode adjustment and a memory function to bring you back to the last mode used. And the build quality is much better. If you shake one of my cheap flashlights hard the battery comes out of contact and the light turns on and off. It's not really a big deal, but isn't very confidence inspiring.

I own about 6 Nitecore and Fenix, they are both outstanding light companies. The one thing I wil say is that I use them and they get banged around, well I dropped one my Fenix and it won't cycle the different level of beams, I'm thinking maybe the Nitecore are a bit more durable.

Dorcy seems to have a wide selection of well built lights fairly cheap.

That said; i dropped a 4Sevens in the lake. Fished it out the next morning - no problems a year later.

The previously mentioned Amazon specials work pretty well, I have a couple stashed around my house, in bags, etc.

If you wanted something a little more substantial I bought a stream light polytac for about $35. Very good value.

IMO spend a little more and get some Olight's. I have two with the recharging bases. Gave one that's not recharging to mom a couple of years ago. The baton models can be attached to the brim of your cap/hat making them multi purpose. Amazon sells them so no issues there. Or find a local seller.

IMO/IME you get what you pay for. IME, the cheap lights will disappoint more often than not and fairly quickly at that.

I took a chance and bought some cheap "military style " flash kights on ebay for cheap money. They come with french or Italian instructions and are rechargeable. So far for beating around the house they are holding up

I also bought sevral of these for work for $25 each they are doing very well. Bright, long batt life and tough.

While I have a couple of super bright Cree rechargeable lights, I tend to prefer lights that use standard alkaline batteries so I know I can use them in an emergency. The one I most often slip in my pocket is this one:

And I keep this one in my glove box:

Both have been dead nuts reliable.

I've carried my Streamlight ProTac 1L-1AA(~$45) for more than a few years now and love it.

I know some folks love the retardedly huge lumen numbers but I choose this because it'll run on CR123 and AA(and if you're careful enough, a AAA) without any add on pieces, lithium or alkaline. Figure I'll have my bases covered in a pinch if I were to run out of spares, just bust open a remote control anywhere on the planet and I'm back in business.
