Brandy new Shield.
Lost the center white dot, it's kind of recessed in there.
Is there a preferred paint and / or application method for getting another one in there?

Thanks
Paul

Lost a dot on my M&P 2 weeks after purchasing it and sent the slide back to S&W with a bag of new Trijicon HD's and they installed them gratis. I considered it a blessing.

...or you can drop some white nail polish in with a tooth pick.

The thought crossed my mind to send it back but I figured I may be waiting 6 months for its return.

white nail polish is preferred eh?

Believe it or not, but a lot of people with that problem on the S&W Forum just used a toothpick to drop some white-out, correction fluid, into the sight hole. Supposed to work fine.

Two dots dropped out of my shield as well. Toothpick and testers florescent white paint worked for a while but has turned yellow.....
Why can't S&W fix this. It's been happening for quite awhile now to quite a few knuckleheads..

I bought a kit from Bright Sights, it is 7 paint colors and a cleaner. The white stays very true to color and no solvent has had any impact on durability. More in each bottle than you would ever need and 5 years later the paint is still good in the bottles. My experience has been good with the product. Never tried the luminous paint from them.

Testers fluorescent model paint worked for me

This is what Greg Derr uses in gunsmithing. He puts down a white base and then the color of choice over that. Looks great and stays on for years.

This is what I did when I bought an H&K USPc that some moron had picked out all 3 white dots. Did it once back about 2000 and it still works today!

Wow. I guess its an epidemic. Its funny because I didn't want to look like an ass, so before posting I got in there with a paperclip to see if it was just dirty with gun powder or something, nope, it was really gone.

Thanks for the ideas everyone.
Being a bean counter, I'll go with the white out, plenty of that around here, I never make mistakes, lol.

Since it's brand new you could send it back. I did the same as everyone else, dabbed some white nail polish in there.
