I looked and did not find much information about this club. Their web page seems to show they offer various activities for family as well as shooting. I probably should poke around on their web page some more as I did not find range rules. Family membership was only 85 dollars..

It appeared they only had outdoor trap and skeet ranges no rifle range?.. they have an indoor range.
I plan on moving to the area and would like to join a club that would be local to me and affordable.. does anyone have any experience there?

I'm a member there, ask away with any specific questions... Lots of trap and skeet activity, hosted the MA state skeet shoot the last few years. Indoor pistol range. No outdoor pistol or rifle. They do have some outdoor fishing and archery which I am not familiar with personally. Nice bar area.

For outdoor rifle in the area checkout Springfield Sportman's Club (http://www.springfieldsportsmansclub.com/). There are also other options but I'm not sure exactly where you are... Feel free to drop me a PM.

I'm also a member there and co-teach Basic Pistol at Ludlow.

They have excellent shotgun facilities, and they teach Basic Shotgun monthly.

They have indoor pistol leagues (bulls-eye) very regularly, but outside of those events, the indoor range is under-used, although it is a nice facility. There are often between 0 to 2 other shooters there when I've been there.

They have a pavilion for rent, and the clubhouse has a full bar and snacks.

The indoor range is open whenever the clubhouse is open (usually 12 noon through about 9 p.m.). Shotgun is available by schedule, but I don't know what that schedule is. There is an additional range fee to get door keys to the indoor range; you must get the range passes from the range master, and demonstrate safe gun handling.

Visitors can only shoot at the indoor range on the first Saturday of the month, and pay a small visitor's fee.

Springfield Sportsman's Club has excellent outdoor facilities. 300-yard range, 50-yard range, and 3 action pits for handguns. They also have a large shotgun crowd with separate ranges. They have a game preserve with stocked birds, and they are much more visitor-friendly than many of the other clubs in the area.

I recommend either or both clubs. If you're a little north of Springfield, Fairview Sportsman's Club in Granby is an alternative to Springfield Sportsman's Club in Monson.

Thanks for the responses. I'm a new shooter, well since October and although I've learned a lot I still am no where near brave enough to post up a target of what I have shot ;)
With that being said, I spend most of time shooting on private property just plinking things with my AR and various hand guns. I also have a, lever action and a bolt action rifle and a shotgun (870- that I have only taken out once) I have been to a club/range 1 time.

I see myself using the pistol and rifle ranges more but I'm open to the shotgun activities as well. They look fun! Probably more leaning towards pistol ranges as that seems to be the hardest skill to 'master' ..well at least for me.

I will have to check out Springfield's site and offerings as well.

Ah... If you're moving to Palmer I'd highly recommend looking at Nenameseck http://www.nenameseck.com/

No shotgun but great outdoor rifle and indoor/outdoor pistol.

You'll be one town over from me!

I like the outdoor ranges (rifle/pistol) Ludlow seems very nice but geared more towards shotguns. I still need to check out the Springfield page.
What is in the club house? Normal bar/pool tables? Is the indoor range 24/7 or only when club house is open?
Do they have any outdoor amenities like pavilion, pond etc?

Thanks don't know how I missed them!

In the club house at Nenameseck is the indoor pistol range and new indoor archery range. Also an area used for classroom space and meetings, plus restrooms. No bar or pooltables.

Indoor ranges is 24x7.

No fishing, lots of outdoor archery though.

If you want to check it out in person drop me a PM.

Cool thanks. I'd rather have 24/7 access then a bar.

I'll have to see when I'll be around that way to check it out. Briefly looked at Springfields site but need to spend more time looking at it.

Nenamesek looks to allow the same guest to only come once ..what is Ludlows policy for this? Is it also limited to a particular day? My friend is a member at Riverside in Hudson which is very guest friendly I'd like to be able to have him join me occasionally as well.

Thanks Andy for taking the time to show Nenamesek. I tried to figure out how to send you rep points, although it looks as if it is only based on sales/trades. (can I use that anyway..?) I will be attending the meeting on April 3rd to join.. thanks again! [bow]
